The Port Elche hotel hosted a new "Leisure and Business" breakfast, featuring the participation of
Nuria Montes, Regional Minister of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Generalitat Valenciana.
The "Leisure and Business" initiative, promoted by the Port Hotels chain, focuses on the business ecosystem of the Elche business park. This event was attended by Miguel Pina, CEO of Mondraker, an Elche-based company dedicated to mountain biking, and Sol Segura, Director of Cedelco, as the event moderator.
In her speech, the Regional Minister of Tourism conveyed excellent future prospects for industry, commerce, and tourism to the attendees. Montes highlighted that part of her strategy for the Business Park is precisely to promote it as a major European industrial hub, emphasizing the facilities for companies and town councils through a single window to which they can turn. From her department, Nuria Montes intends to "execute as much of the budget as possible".
The Regional Minister predicts "another record year" for the tourism sector. Nuria Montes took stock of recent years, recalling the recent pandemic. However, the Regional Minister states that "society has changed, and tourism is a very important part of that; it has become a necessity".
Miguel Pina, who recently opened a new Mondraker headquarters in the United States, provided a broad perspective on the family business, its growth trajectory, and the various strategies to face contemporary business challenges. The entrepreneur emphasized the importance of bringing innovation to all departments of a company: "it is not enough to have the best product, the rest of the services must be equally in line," he asserts. Likewise, he highlighted the importance of external help when transitioning from a family structure to a professional one, as one of the most complex changes his entity is experiencing.
The event brought together various authorities, such as the Mayor of Elche, Pablo Ruz, the Councilors for Economic Promotion and Tourism, Samuel Ruiz and Irene Ruiz, and Juan José Ruiz Martínez, Rector of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, as well as representatives of prominent companies in the city such as Grupo Soledad, Grupo Antón, and PLD Space.
