The hotel chain Port Hotels, with 11 hotels present in the Valencian Community, signs an agreement with Gravity Wave, a social impact, circular economy, and environmental awareness company that was born with the mission of achieving seas free of plastic in a direct, concrete, and measurable way.
Port Hotels, within the framework of its business axis of commitment to the environment and territories 'Guests of the Planet' and in commemoration of World Water Day, signs an agreement with Gravity Wave to join the #plasticfreeoceans commitment. The hotel chain has agreed to the collection of 1,000 kilograms of plastic from the sea. The plastic cleanup will be carried out from the seabed and ports of the Mediterranean Sea together with the guilds and the network of traditional fishermen that Gravity Wave has, distributed across countries such as Spain, Greece, Italy, and Egypt.
This agreement is aligned with three of the major axes on which the entity works regarding sustainability: the reduction of plastics, optimal waste management, and social responsibility. The objective of this agreement is to improve the quality of the environment, as well as to reduce the impact of tourist activity in the cities where Port Hotels operates.
Ana Mayor, Vice President of Port Hotels, adds that "this agreement symbolizes our commitment to caring for the environment and the immediate surroundings, as well as making all the necessary efforts to preserve it."
With this agreement, Port Hotels joins the declaration of intent pursued by Gravity Wave, thus belonging to the network of companies committed to the cleaning and protection of the seas and oceans, becoming a benchmark company in its industry for this change and transmitting this commitment to all its stakeholders and clients.
