The Hotel Huerto del Cura receives the Silver Medal in the delivery of Medals of the Bimil·lenari d'Elx celebrated within the framework of the 9th of October, day of the Valencian Community.
“The medal is for one of the diamonds of the city's hotel and tourist offer, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Since it opened its doors thanks to the obstinacy of the Orts family, to be first a campsite and then a colonial-style hotel, this hotel establishment has captivated thousands of tourists, some of them renowned, who have stayed in our city. ”
“In recent decades the hotel has been growing and modernizing. In 2020 it was acquired by the Port Hotels hotel chain, a company led by businessman Toni Mayor, also president of the Hotel Association of the Valencian Community HOSBEC. With a face lift and the transformation of its spaces to become the quality reference in the province, this hotel has managed to combine innovation with tradition, it has maintained its distinctive character by being an oasis in the center of the city.” With these words concluded the presentation of the Silver Medal.
Patricia Maciá, Deputy Mayor of the Elche City Council, was in charge of delivering the Silver Medal, which was collected by Rafael Blanquer, General Manager of Port Hotels.
"This recognition is very special for us since this year we are celebrating the trajectory of an establishment that is much more than a hotel: it is gastronomy, it is culture, it is nature and it is pure Ilcitian," assured Blanquer, also President of AETE (Association of Tourist Companies of Elche).
“When in 2019 we acquired the hotels Port Jardín Milenio, Port Elche and also the Hotel Huerto del Cura, we made a firm commitment to a destination of great cultural and business value such as Elche. We want to take advantage of this moment to show our gratitude to the entire society of Elche for the great reception we have received in the city and to support our management, with which we have wanted to respect the DNA of the Hotel Huerto del Cura and the other establishments.”
