The president of Port Hotels and HOSBEC Toni Mayor has received from the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, the special mention of the 'Tourism City of Benidorm 2022' Awards within the framework of the celebration of World Tourism Day.

 

In an emotional act held in the Assembly Hall of the City Council of the tourist capital of the Valencian Community, Toni Mayor was moved to receive the award "precisely in the city where I was born and in which I have developed a large part of my business facet and all my family life".

 

The President of Port Hotels has recognized that "it is difficult to find another city in the world that hurts us and engages us as much as Benidorm businessmen" recalling that it has been and is the engine of our lives and we have dedicated a lot of human and personal economic efforts in enhancing its image, in renewing its name and in always maintaining its power as a great Spanish tourist destination.

 

 

Mayor has revealed the secret behind Benidorm and its tourist industry which is "work, work and much more work. And when you work on what is your passion, work becomes fun, comfortable and with a large dose of satisfaction".

 

As is customary in all his speeches, there has also been room for claiming the necessary strategic infrastructures: "I would have liked this city to have an AVE connection, a rail link to the airport, a powerful shopping centre, a Cultural Center and the Palacio de Congresos operating at full capacity... " but it has also looked back on revolutionary milestones such as the General Plan, the free height or the modification that allowed the revolution of the hotel plant with 4 and 5 star establishments. "Benidorm has to continue to be the spearhead of the tourist avant-garde. Toni Mayor will pilot the relief in the presidency of HOSBEC before the end of the year, "making way for the new generation of businessmen who have to lead the tourism sector in the Valencian Community". He has recalled how he began his mandate with the financial and real estate crisis of 2008 and that now we are facing the most important energy crisis since 1973 and the inflationary tsunami largely produced by Putin's madness."

 

The mayor of Benidorm Toni Pérez, has had some beautiful and emotional words for the president of Port Hotels in his speech.
