Port Hotels, official sponsor of Elche Club de Fútbol, concluded this Monday its charitable initiative alongside the Elche-based club and the association Aspanion, organised to mark International Childhood Cancer Day (15 February) and structured around three complementary actions: an activation at the Martínez Valero Stadium, a meet-and-greet day with first-team players, and a direct financial contribution to the association.
The initiative culminated this Monday at Hotel Huerto del Cura, where players Fede Redondo and Buba Sangaré shared a charitable afternoon snack with the children of Aspanion and their families. Both footballers spent time talking with the children, signing autographs and taking photographs with them, in an experience designed to share smiles, create unforgettable memories and reinforce the message of support and hope underpinning this initiative.
This event followed the action held last Friday during the Elche CF – CA Osasuna match at the Martínez Valero Stadium, where Aspanion’s children walked onto the pitch alongside the Elche players shortly before kick-off. After posing for the official team photograph, the children and their families enjoyed the match from the stands.
A commitment involving the entire fanbase
Both actions form part of Port Hotels’ annual charitable campaign marking International Childhood Cancer Day. On Sunday 15 February, 3% of all bookings made through the chain’s official website were donated in full to Aspanion, contributing to the support the association provides to families across the Valencian Community.
“We believe in sponsorship that goes beyond brand presence. Thanks to our partnership with Elche CF, we have been able to promote, together with Aspanion, an initiative that combines visibility, closeness and tangible support, reflecting how we understand our commitment to the local community,” said Ana Mayor, Vice-President of Port Hotels.
In this way, Port Hotels reaffirms its commitment to responsible tourism that is engaged with its local community, bringing sport closer to those who need it most and turning every initiative into a genuine gesture of social impact.
