Coinciding with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Port Hotels has formalized a strategic agreement with the Autism Friendly Club to consolidate its cognitive accessibility model as a corporate standard across all hotels in the chain. The alliance establishes a global and homogeneous framework that reinforces the group's commitment to environments that are more understandable, accessible, and respectful for everyone.
Port Hotels was recognized with the 2025 Hotel CSR Award in the Social category for being the first Spanish hotel chain to adopt the Autism Friendly model in all its establishments, distinguishing itself by its commitment to inclusive hospitality and its contribution to the development of neuro-accessibility in the sector.
The agreement announced today will allow for the structuring and unification of cognitive accessibility criteria across the entire chain, ensuring coherence and continuity in areas such as team training, signage, visual supports, and service protocols. With this corporate framework, Port Hotels reinforces the quality and consistency of the already recognized model.
The initiative is part of Guest of the Planet, the group's corporate social responsibility program, focused on promoting projects aligned with inclusion, accessibility, and the well-being of diverse groups.
The CEO of Port Hotels, Diego Fernández Pérez de Ponga, notes: “This agreement allows us to consolidate a model that is already part of our identity as a chain. Cognitive accessibility is not just a commitment, but an essential value of how we understand hospitality.”
For his part, Alberto Gutiérrez, president of Autism Friendly Club Global, highlights: “The step taken by Port Hotels by establishing a unique corporate framework reinforces its leadership and guarantees the long-term sustainability of the model. It is a benchmark for the sector.”
With this alliance, Port Hotels strengthens its position as a pioneering chain in neuro-accessibility and deepens its commitment to more humane, inclusive, and accessible hospitality.
