Hotel Huerto del Cura has been selected as a finalist in the Grand Hotel category of the Best Hotel Breakfast Award 2026, a distinction promoted by Madrid Fusión Alimentos de España that recognises the most outstanding breakfast offerings in the Spanish hotel landscape.

The Elche-based hotel is among the five shortlisted establishments in this year’s edition thanks to a breakfast concept conceived as a gastronomic experience in its own right. The proposal elevates one of the most important moments of the guest stay and reinforces the hotel’s commitment to quality, local produce and excellence. The breakfast offering also adapts to seasonality through special editions, such as the current Winter Breakfast.

Paco Cerdà, an essential voice in historical memory and narrative journalism, to lead the upcoming Gastronomic-Literary Dinner at La Taula

On Friday, 28 November 2025, the restaurant La Taula, located in the Hotel Port Jardín Milenio, will host a new edition of the Gastronomic-Literary Dinners, a well-established series that has become a meeting point between culture and gastronomy in the city of Elche. On this occasion, the guest will be writer and journalist Paco Cerdà, who will discuss his book Presentes with attendees.

Organised in collaboration with the Elche-based bookshop Ali i Truc, the event maintains its intimate and exclusive format, with limited seating to encourage close dialogue with the author. Port Hotels receives the RSC Hotelera 2025 Award in the Social category for its “Autism Friendly” project

Port Hotels has been honoured with the RSC Hotelera 2025 Award in the Social category, a distinction that recognises the group’s commitment to promoting an inclusive tourism model through the “Autism Friendly” project. The award, presented during the 20th Spanish Hoteliers Congress held in Cartagena, highlights the implementation of the project across the entire chain, making Port Hotels the first hotel group in Spain to adopt this certified cognitive accessibility model on a global scale.

The jury praised the originality, social impact and strategic integration of the initiative, as well as its pioneering nature as the first certified cognitive accessibility model in Spain to be applied across an entire hotel chain. The “Autism Friendly” project has been developed and certified in collaboration with Autism Friendly Club, an initiative led by professionals from the social sector, specialising in cognitive accessibility and in identifying and supporting autism-friendly environments.

The implementation includes specialised training for staff, adapted signage, cognitive support tools in different areas, and personalised protocols that ensure a more comprehensible, safe and calm stay for guests on the autism spectrum.

On 21 September 2025, Benidorm will once again experience a very special day with the celebration of the 3rd Edition of the Solidarity Race, an event promoted by the Benidorm City Council and organised by the Socio-Cultural Association of the Local Police of Benidorm in collaboration with the Benidorm Athletics Club. A day in which sport, community and solidarity come together to support children who are fighting against childhood cancer.

The funds raised from this edition will go to ASPANION, the Association of Mothers and Fathers of Children with Cancer in the Valencian Community, which thanks to initiatives like this one, can continue to maintain its psychological, social and financial support programmes, as well as the shelter homes that provide such vital relief for many families.

The event will include different modalities so that everyone can take part: 10 km and 5 km races, along with children’s events designed for the youngest participants. In addition, throughout the day there will be entertainment, music, activities and an atmosphere full of positive energy, making this an unforgettable experience.

The City Council grants a permit to Hotel Port Benidorm to build a 26-story tower

The Benidorm City Council has granted the building permit to expand Port Benidorm Hotel & Spa, located in the Rincón de Loix neighborhood. The establishment is owned by the renowned entrepreneur Toni Mayor, president of the Port Hotels chain and former leader of the sector’s employers' association in the Comunitat, Hosbec. The project includes the construction of an adjacent 26-story tower, eight more than the current flagship building in the city of skyscrapers. The work is expected to be completed before the high season of 2026, according to company sources.

The new building will house 125 hotel rooms, bringing the total to 406 rooms in the establishment. This will be achieved through a new structure connected to the existing building, as seen in the accompanying image. Of the 26 floors of the new tower, 23 will be dedicated to the new accommodation units, while the remaining floors will enhance and expand the range of services and common areas “to offer our guests a comprehensive luxury and wellness experience.”

Additionally, new pool areas will be added, and the hotel’s current rooftop will be expanded to increase the capacity and services of La Terrasse, the restaurant located in this space. Furthermore, the existing parking lot will be demolished and replaced with a new three-level parking area to improve capacity and accessibility.

Previously, the company had to initiate the entire procedure to apply for an Interior Reform Plan (PRI) that would allow them to increase the buildable area of the plot in exchange for compensating the municipality financially and relinquishing square meters in setbacks. However, according to the documentation, they do not have the environmental license prior to the building permit as it is still being processed. As a result, they have assumed the risk and responsibility for the consequences if it is not granted, thereby committing not to receive compensation. This is a reversal of steps allowed by law in such cases.

The deadline for the execution of the work is 24 months, and the permit will expire if the works have not commenced within six months of notification. Once started, the works will be halted for six months.

This is not the first renovation the hotel has undergone since being acquired by Toni Mayor. After purchasing the property, previously known as Los Dálmatas, the entrepreneur opened the doors of the new accommodation in 2016 with his signature touch following a significant transformation process and an investment of 13 million euros. He also established his headquarters there, from where he manages the chain, which includes eleven establishments throughout the Valencian Community. Five years later, he continued with the conversion by undertaking new works on the structure, followed by further expansions of the rooms and spaces, such as the rooftop converted into a bar with privileged views of the beach and the skyline. This constant evolution has allowed the hotel to achieve a superior four-star rating.

“The expansion of Port Benidorm Hotel & Spa not only reinforces Port Hotels’ commitment to growth and innovation in the hotel industry but also underscores its investment in Benidorm as a key destination for national and international tourism,” stated the hotel chain. They added, “With this project, Port Hotels continues to elevate the quality and service standards that have characterized the chain throughout its history.”

Currently, the company employs over 800 people, manages 1,925 rooms, and offers nearly 4,000 hotel beds.

With an exuberant tropical chic atmosphere, on April 26 the Hotel Huerto del Cura celebrated its 2nd Charity Gala 'Welcome to Summer' to benefit the Conciénciate Foundation.

A party to welcome the most anticipated time of the year in which no detail was lacking. An incredible corridor of lights directed attendees towards the pool area. Surrounded by palm trees, flowers and colors, it was the epicenter of the gala.

Attendees were able to enjoy gastronomic stations where there was no shortage of Cuban flavors such as fried cow, Creole rice and mojito. Port Benidorm and Port Fiesta Park hotels have been awarded the Accessible Tourism badge as part of Benidorm's Accessible Tourism Plan.

Both hotels have implemented specific actions that were previously audited to obtain this recognition. Among the measures taken are widening of doors and corridors, modification of access with ramps and accessible elevators, installation of emergency lighting signals and alarm devices in bathrooms, implementation of specific table reservations in the restaurant for quick and unobstructed access to the buffet, and modification of the height of elevator controls, among others.

Lean Management: How at Port Hotels we have improved the way we work to be better with each other and our customers

Lean Management is a powerful methodology aimed at continuous improvement. It involves identifying waste or "muda," which is defined as anything that does not add value for both internal and especially external customers, and eliminating it. Delays affecting guests, constant breakdowns, quality defects, movements of people and materials, warehouses full of perishable materials and products, or overproduction are considered waste and are the target to eradicate when working with Lean Management. At Port Hotels, we embrace this methodology to improve efficiency and, therefore, the satisfaction of both our internal and external customers. In this first foray into Lean Management, we have focused on the housekeeping and storeroom departments and have improved our internal procedures with cost reductions and task completion times. The application of Lean Management methodology requires the participation of teams that carry out most of the processes and are at the base of the hierarchical pyramid of a company. They always know what is happening or what may happen in a hotel, in our case.

The event consists of a sunset cocktail celebration, featuring gastronomic stations, an open bar, and live music. Port Hotels signs an agreement with Gravity Wave for the collection of 1,000kg of Plastic from seas and ports

The Port Hotels chain, with 11 hotels located in the Valencian Community, has signed an agreement with Gravity Wave, a social impact company focused on circular economy and environmental awareness, which was established with the mission of achieving plastic-free seas directly, concretely, and measurably.

Port Hotels, within the framework of its corporate commitment to the environment and territories under 'Guests of the Planet' initiative and in commemoration of World Water Day, has entered into an agreement with Gravity Wave to join the #plasticfreeoceans commitment. The hotel group has agreed to collect 1,000 kilograms of plastic from the sea. The plastic cleanup will take place in the depths and ports of the Mediterranean Sea, alongside the traditional fishing communities and networks that Gravity Wave operates with, distributed across countries such as Spain, Greece, Italy, and Egypt.

This agreement is aligned with three major sustainability pillars that the organization works on: plastic reduction, optimal waste management, and social responsibility. The aim of this agreement is to enhance the quality of the environment and reduce the impact of tourist activities in the cities where Port Hotels operates.

Port Hotels adheres to the social commitment with CIDES in favour of the most vulnerable groups

The City of Hope (CIDES) and the Hotel and Tourism Business Association of the Valencian Community (HOSBEC), of which Port Hotels is a member, have signed a collaboration agreement for members in the province of Valencia. The objective of the agreement is to develop various initiatives that connect members with non-profit organizations focused on key goals such as job placement, inequality reduction, and aid to countries in war-torn situations.

Port Hotels has joined this initiative as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts.

The agreement allows hotels to donate to CIDES any furnishings and textiles they wish to renew in their establishments, provided they are in optimal condition for repurposing. Within the framework of the agreement, both entities commit to generating new initiatives and organizing an annual charity dinner.

Port Hotels breaks its record in 2023 with 66 million in turnover

The Port Hotels hotel chain, with 11 hotels in the Valencian Community, closed the year 2023 setting its turnover record with 66 million euros, 27% more than the previous year.

The company, with establishments in Benidorm, Calpe, Dénia, Alicante, Elche and Valencia, has skyrocketed both revenue and profits in a year marked by the normalization of demand and mobility. Likewise, the chain has carried out different actions in some of its establishments with the aim of repositioning and revaluing its offer.

After a 12% increase in turnover in 2022 compared to its last best year, 2019, with the results of this last year, the company sets its course towards 100 million euros by 2030.

Toni Mayor, President of Port Hotels, states: “Our business model presents many challenges throughout the year such as the seasonality of demand, sustainability and talent retention, but over the years we have learned to face all of them with very good economic, reputational and labor results. In this last year we have not only reached new milestones in billing, but we have also done so substantially in profit.”

Digitalization, innovation and commitment to human capital constitute three major axes of development for Port Hotels, whose internal headquarters structure has grown by more than 60% since the pandemic period.

AETE announces the 14th edition of its popular gastronomic contest Destapate

After six years, the Association of Tourism Companies of Elche (AETE) and the Hospitality Association of Elche have reactivated the 'Destapate' tapas contest, with which they "aim to energize and disseminate the Elche gastronomic offer of bars and restaurants of the municipality and promote tourism.

The objective of this contest is for Elche residents and tourists to taste the tapas made by the different establishments in the municipality at a price of three euros. Participants will compete for the prizes of 'Best Cover', 'Award for the Most Creative Cover' and 'Award for the Best Service Offered'.

The Port Elche hotel restaurant has prepared a tapa that consists of brioche bread with roast beef, bacon and Port sauce. With this preparation, the restaurant seeks to give a new approach to its cuisine and position itself as a reference place in the area.

The cover will be available from September 28 to November 5. It will be on November 6 when the jury tastes all the proposals and chooses the winners.

Last Wednesday, the Family Business Association of the province of Alicante announced the names of the companies that will be awarded in the twenty-eighth edition of the AEFA Awards. Celebrate the Elche festivities from the heart of the palm grove

One more year, the city of Elche celebrates its Patron Saint Festivities from the 1st to the 15th of August. On the occasion of the celebration of the long-awaited festivities, the Els Capellans restaurant, at the Huerto del Cura hotel, and the La Taula restaurant, at the Port Jardín Milenio hotel, have prepared a wide gastronomic offer that highlights the traditional flavors of the city to delight to locals and visitors.

Port Hotels signs an agreement with Aspanion in the framework of World Childhood Cancer Day

Port Hotels, a hotel chain in the Valencian Community, signs an agreement with Aspanion, the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer of the Valencian Community within the framework of the World Day Against Childhood Cancer, to make a donation from its website and contribute to the “fight of heroes” of the association.

Port Hotels closes 2022 with a turnover of 52 million euros thanks to the seasonal adjustment and renovation of its hotels

The Port Hotels hotel chain, with 11 hotels in the Valencian Community, closed 2022 with a turnover of 52 million euros, 12% more business volume than in its last best year, 2019.

The company, with a presence in Benidorm, Calpe, Dénia, Alicante, Elche and Valencia, has generated almost 5 million more than in 2019 thanks to the renovation of its hotels, such as the Port Alicante City & Beach, completely renovated last year, or the improvement actions in hotels such as the Huerto del Cura or the Port Jardín Milenio, both in Elche.

Port Hotels also claims to have had the best months of November and December in its history, which confirms that its seasonal demand adjustment strategies are bearing fruit.

The company, founded by Toni Mayor, expects 2023 to be its best year to date, since Port Alicante City & Beach, one of its hotels, remained closed in 2022 for practically the entire year due to its renovation and expansion. “In 2023 we will have all our hotels at full capacity, and it is the year in which we expect to reap the fruits of all the strategies implemented since 2019, such as the renovation and updating of the hotels, the commitment to increase direct sales and the growth of our sales and marketing teams,” says Toni Mayor, President of Port Hotels.

The company also announced that it will resume its expansion plans to go from 11 to 15 hotels by 2030.

Port Benidorm Hotel&Spa receives the 2022 Hygiene Excellence Award

Last December, the Comunidad Valenciana hotel association Hosbec and Turisme Comunitat Valenciana presented the 2022 Hygiene Excellence Awards with which they highlighted the sanitary management of the kitchens and water facilities of the nominated hotels.

This time, there were 12 hotels rewarded, including Port Benidorm Hotel & Spa. La Palmera Cobra: The Singular Palm Tree of Elche from the Hotel Huerto del Cura

The Huerto del Cura hotel is located in the heart of Elche's palm grove. This was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO on November 30, 2000.

This highly significant location gives the hotel a special uniqueness in the province, which is characterized by having other types of tree specimens such as pine, olive or Valencian oak. Among all the palm trees that embrace the facilities of the Huerto del Cura hotel we find the so-called Palmera Cobra, a spectacular Phoenix palm tree that takes its name from its serpentine reptilian appearance. The experts who have studied this specimen of palm tree assure that about ¾ parts are completely horizontal, part of its trunk being even underground, to later rise imperially towards the sky crowning its peculiar physiognomy with abundant clusters of dates, the large protagonists of Elche's gastronomy and especially the Hotel Huerto del Cura, where the renowned 'delicacies of Elche' were born several decades ago. La Palmera Cobra is part of the Route of the Singular Palm Trees of Elche.

This route values the Palmeral de Elche and the landscape complex that it forms throughout the length and breadth of the Elche town. The route is made up of 18 palm trees that stand out for their history, morphology or unique beauty. These are located in the historic palm grove, which is also the best-known tourist route in the city. The route is completely free and can be done on foot or by bicycle. It begins at the El Tridente palm tree, passing through the Cobra palm tree until it reaches the Pipas del Travalón Bajo.

The Hotel Huerto del Cura celebrates a new edition of its Bridal Fair in a night full of surprises and romanticism in what is the reference hotel for weddings and ceremonies in the province of Alicante.

Agenda: The author Inma Chacón presents 'Los Silencios de Hugo' at the Literary Gastro Nights of La Taula

On November 11, a new edition of the Literary Gastronomic Nights will take place at the La Taula restaurant in Port Jardín Milenio. On this occasion we will receive the author Inma Chacón, who will present her latest work 'The silences of Hugo'.

Inma Chacón is a Spanish narrator and poet, born in Extremadura. Doctor in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid, she is a professor of Documentation at the Rey Juan Carlos University. She has been dean of the Faculty of Communication and Humanities at the European University, founder and director of the digital magazine Binaria and director of the Doctorate in Communication, Technological Rise and Sociocultural Renewal. In 2011, the author was a finalist for the Planeta Prize with her fourth novel 'Tiempo de arena'.

Her latest novel, 'Los Silencios de Hugo' tells the story of a family that has to fight against certain diseases such as AIDS. The author summarizes this work as 'a revenge' on the death of her sister, Dulce Chacón.

The Hotel Huerto del Cura receives the Silver Medal in the delivery of Medals of the Bimil·lenari d'Elx celebrated within the framework of the 9th of October, day of the Valencian Community.

Discover the beauty and wellness circuit of the Port Benidorm Spa

The optimal duration for acclimatization should be approximately 5 minutes and consists of a first warm water shower before entering the Spa. The Huerto del Cura in the program Jardines con Historia at Channel 2 by TVE

The program presented by the architect Arturo Franco broadcasts the episode dedicated to the Jardín Huerto del Cura , with which our Hotel Huerto del Cura shares natural heritage.

This documentary series reveals the vegetable and cultural heritage of the Huerto del Cura Garden and highlights the role of the Garden as part of the Historic Palm Grove of Elche, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000. The largest palm grove in Europe, made up of more than 200,000 specimens and about 50,000 in municipal gardens.

At Port Hotels we are renovating our establishments

At Port Hotels we are taking advantage of the inactivity of the tourism sector to invest 3 million euros in our establishments and make a qualitative leap in many of our products.

After raising 48 million in 2019, 11.6% more than the previous year, we are allocating part of this capital to updating our hotels in order to come back to business in perfect shape and being being much more competitive.

Among the most important investments is the construction of the foundations to build a second tower in our flagship hotel in Benidorm, the Port Benidorm Hotel & Spa (4 * Sup). This expansion will be carried out in a first phase in which the foundation of the tower will be made, a first floor with new offices for the headquarters teams, whose growth will be constant in the coming years, and a second floor in where a multimedia room will be located as a service with high added value for customers. In the second phase of construction, to which between 10 and 12 million euros will be allocated, the rest of the tower will be erected, which will hold 120 more rooms, which will result in a hotel with 400 total rooms. In addition, the new tower will hold about 400m² more of dining room spaces and a heated outdoor swimming pool for guests staying in the new Suite rooms.

From Port Hotels we are also going to allocate part of the 3 million to the renovation of 9 rooms in the historic Hotel Huerto del Cura (Elche). This project will translate into a qualitative leap for these rooms and a considerable increase in their average price, designed to offer an experience typical of a five-star hotel.

In the Hotel Port Feria Valencia, the entire kitchen has been refurbished and in the Hotel Port Azafata Valencia, we have completed the renovation of the poolnd jacuzzi areas.

In addition, we will dedicate a good part of the resources to actions such as the improvement or creation of playgrounds in hotels such as Port Denia (Denia), Port Fiesta Park (Benidorm), Port Jardín Milenio (Elche) or Port Europa (Calpe), as well as the equipment, furnishings and painting of most of the hotels on the property.

During the months of inactivity due to the pandemic, the company has not only dedicated itself to the maintenance and upgrade of our establishments, but we have also created an online training platform for our employees, where they have received constant support, have had Access to professional coaching sessions and they have been able to update their skills for the openings.

Throughout 2021, the chain also plans to invest in a rigorous Corporate Social Responsibility plan that will turn our hotels into products not only for accommodation or vacations but also a lifestyle choice.

Port Hotels expands in the Autonomous Region of Valencia

The hotel chain, Port Hotels, has been expanding with the incorporation of 2 new establishments, Hotel Huerto del Cura and Jardín Milenio, both four-star hotels.

The hotel Huerto del Cura (Elche, Alicante) has 86 rooms placed amongst its gardens, featuring an interesting concept of horizontality that is highly appreciated by its guests.

The Hotel Milenio (Elche, Alicante) with 72 rooms offers excellent facilities for resting, visiting the city or celebrating any type of event.

2. You can also contact us and we will process the voucher on your behalf without the need for your electronic signature. For this you can call us at 966 803 232.

3. Once you have requested your voucher you will receive a code that you must redeem when making the reservation. You will have 7 days from your registration to make the reservation. Once this period has expired, the voucher cannot be exchanged.

4. Even if you travel with more people, it is only necessary to request a voucher since the voucher applies to the reservation of the trip, not to the travelers.
